It’s already been a week since I started college, and no one seems to notice me. I walk through the expansive campus quietly, blending into the background like a shadow. It’s not like I mind being alone; in fact, I’m used to it. Growing up as an only child has left me comfortable with my own company. But every now and then, I can’t help but feel a pang of loneliness as I watch groups of friends excitedly chat and laugh together.
